Prayers...

In April, 2010, when Andrew was 2 1/2, a tumor was discovered behind his eye. The tumor was removed, but it was found to be an aggressive cancer. He endured seven months of chemo and six weeks radiation. In December of 2010, the day after his last treatment, he was rushed to the ER with an almost fatal bacterial infection. He survived.

He is now seven-years-old!! I don't visit here much, because during the ordeal, this is where I dumped everything--my rage, my fear, my sadness, my ugly, my hope, my everything. But I want all of you who supported and prayed for us to hear his updates. You helped me survive, and I am deeply thankful. Every once in awhile, I will check in to let you know how he's doing. Please continue to pray that cancer will never return to his body. Thank you.

It's a bird...

Faster than a speeding bullet,

More powerful than a locomotive,

Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound,

It's a bird!

It's a plane!

(okay so I missed the plane)

It's Superman!

Superman, Man of Steel, Superman.

We haven't left the house all week without a costume.
And, Andrew learned to ride his tricycle.
Fun!

(except the part where I have to take off this one-piece costume every time he needs to use the bathroom...that part, not so fun.)

  2. Funny thing, Spiderman lives at my house. But in this case, Spiderman goes incognito most of the time. The suit only comes out for "special occasions". I definitely don't envy you the bathroom stuff.

  6. He is an awesome Superman! I think he and Jackson look so similar with their blond fuzz! Jack's is growing soooo fast. I didn't realize they were so close in age. I read through a few posts---all of your boys are so handsome! Also--I think I have stayed in that same hotel in California ;) Don't you love being able to do the normal, fun, family things again??

  13. I agree, a very fun post! I thought it was just girls who had dressing up mania, good to know boys get it too. Around here it is all tutus and leotards and getting out of the house in "normal" clothes takes a lot of persuasion :-)
