In April, 2010, when Andrew was 2 1/2, a tumor was discovered behind his eye. The tumor was removed, but it was found to be an aggressive cancer. He endured seven months of chemo and six weeks radiation. In December of 2010, the day after his last treatment, he was rushed to the ER with an almost fatal bacterial infection. He survived.

He is now seven-years-old!! I don't visit here much, because during the ordeal, this is where I dumped everything--my rage, my fear, my sadness, my ugly, my hope, my everything. But I want all of you who supported and prayed for us to hear his updates. You helped me survive, and I am deeply thankful. Every once in awhile, I will check in to let you know how he's doing. Please continue to pray that cancer will never return to his body. Thank you.

You Capture: Fun!

Well, I didn't have a lot of time to edit this week, so I didn't.
But maybe that is because I was spending it having fun instead of sitting at my computer editing pictures.

That will be my excuse :).

We did a lot of swimming.  A LOT.

We had snowcones.

The boys had a bubble bath.

(Andrew, the abominable bubble man)

And who could resist a misty wet dance floor when wearing squeaky new dress shoes?

Now THAT is fun.

  1. So many great smiles! I love the pics of the boys surrounded by bubbles. Looks like they were having lots of fun!

  2. Those smiles are infectious! THEY made ME smile, too. Great shots!!! I loved the bubble bath pics. Soooooooo flippin cute.

  3. Awwww Your boys are absolutely adorable and it looks like they had so much fun playing!

  4. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post! It really goes to show us all that life goes on. And how kids are so resilient and full of energy in stressful/difficult times. We should take some lessons from your boys. Loved the photos, Julie! They didn't even need editing. They were BEAUTIFUL - un-scripted. Real. Fun. Full of LIFE!

    Love you,

  5. Oh these are all great, you can tel there's lots of love there!

  6. Great photos! Your boys' expressions cracked me up. They're really into getting the most out of every experience, aren't they?

  7. Those bubble bath pictures are great, keep taking pictures!

  8. Having the actual fun is MORE fun than editing it anyways :) Glad you guys had some fun this week. Great pictures!

  9. Abominable bubble boys are the best. (And snow cones, too.) =>

  10. Those photos do not need editing. They are absolutely perfect. Love the bubble shots and especially the of your son eating the snow cone.

  11. LOVE the bubble bath pictures!

  12. certainly captured 'fun' in these photos... they made me smile... they look like typical boys.... and remind me of mine at that age...
    Have a great weekend...

  13. Oh my goodness. This is a week when you are NOT having a lot of fun? I totally want to move into your house :)
