Prayers...

In April, 2010, when Andrew was 2 1/2, a tumor was discovered behind his eye. The tumor was removed, but it was found to be an aggressive cancer. He endured seven months of chemo and six weeks radiation. In December of 2010, the day after his last treatment, he was rushed to the ER with an almost fatal bacterial infection. He survived.

He is now seven-years-old!! I don't visit here much, because during the ordeal, this is where I dumped everything--my rage, my fear, my sadness, my ugly, my hope, my everything. But I want all of you who supported and prayed for us to hear his updates. You helped me survive, and I am deeply thankful. Every once in awhile, I will check in to let you know how he's doing. Please continue to pray that cancer will never return to his body. Thank you.

Random Thoughts...

I was looking for some inspiration for today, when I came across this:

randomtuesday

I have plenty of random thoughts, especially on Tuesdays :), so I thought I'd give it a try.  Here goes:

What exactly is a "New Age Beverage?"

Why are people so opposed to child leashes?  We strap kids into car seats, we strap them into strollers, we strap them into grocery carts.  A restrained child = a somewhat relaxed parent.  I know it reminds us of taking the dogs for a walk, but really, what's the harm?  I'm not suggesting children remain on leashes at the playground or at the beach, but it sure would come in handy at the zoo, and the post office, and the grocery store, and ....We run ourselves ragged because we don't want to appear cruel.  But walking actually provides more freedom than the stroller we will stuff them in when we've had ENOUGH of the touching, and the running, and the destruction, and the spinning, and the disappearing.  Just sayin'.

I'm not sure why I keep letting my kids eat in the car:

I duck tape my child's diaper before every nap and bedtime.  I have PTSD.  TOO many poopy clean up jobs to count.

A cup of white vinegar in your laundry helps take away the musty smell of clothing and dish rags. In case you didn't know...I use it with every load.

I far too often leave important things in random places and then can't remember where that random place was...like the 100 stamps I bought today.  grrr...

I need to get off of here and go run on the treadmill.  While I run, I listen to Lady Gaga and watch the news  at full volume, both at the same time.  Drives the whole family nuts.  Here I go.

  1. Your randomness totally made me crack up!!

I have to say I was one of those people who was totally opposed to the child leash until I had a child who needed a leash. ;-)

  3. I love your random!
I know plenty of moms who tape their babies diapers. I wouldn't want to deal with the poop either!
    Happy Tuesday!

  5. You've given me a lot to think about.... maybe I'll think about it all taking a walk with a kid on a leash while I sip my new age beverage. Or not.

  6. New age beverage? What the? Never heard of it. But I've also never heard of duck taping diapers before either. Hee hee! Oh and Lady Gaga is a regular on my workout mix too...maybe too much. The little man sings it from the backseat, "Ra ra, ah, ah, ah, ga, ga, oh-la-la." ;)
