In April, 2010, when Andrew was 2 1/2, a tumor was discovered behind his eye. The tumor was removed, but it was found to be an aggressive cancer. He endured seven months of chemo and six weeks radiation. In December of 2010, the day after his last treatment, he was rushed to the ER with an almost fatal bacterial infection. He survived.

He is now seven-years-old!! I don't visit here much, because during the ordeal, this is where I dumped everything--my rage, my fear, my sadness, my ugly, my hope, my everything. But I want all of you who supported and prayed for us to hear his updates. You helped me survive, and I am deeply thankful. Every once in awhile, I will check in to let you know how he's doing. Please continue to pray that cancer will never return to his body. Thank you.

The First Signs of Spring

Yes, I know.  That last one was scary.  At least I shaved.

I bought some of these,
but I'm not sure if streaky-unnatural-orange looks any better than white-as-can-be.
So they are still sitting in my cabinet.

Sad thing is, by the end of summer my legs won't be much darker.

Oh well.

Happy Spring!

  1. Ohhh spring! I have to admit, I am slightly jealous that you live in Arizona, it is SO pretty there, especially in the spring!

  2. Happy spring!

Your third picture is so, so lovely!

  3. Very pretty! (But about the legs... damn, that's white! I thought we Canadians were bad!) ;)

  4. well, my heritage is that's my excuse. :) When your eyebrows are blonde there is pretty much no hope of ever being even a slight shade of brown.

  5. I refuse to show my until after the first actual beach days and I get a little color... mine are just as bad as yours - and that's scary! :)

  6. i love the first photo and also love me some sexy white legs, so thanks for that one.

oh and thanks for following my blog! i've had you in my Google reader for a while but am really bad at commenting. promises. :)
