Prayers...

In April, 2010, when Andrew was 2 1/2, a tumor was discovered behind his eye. The tumor was removed, but it was found to be an aggressive cancer. He endured seven months of chemo and six weeks radiation. In December of 2010, the day after his last treatment, he was rushed to the ER with an almost fatal bacterial infection. He survived.

He is now seven-years-old!! I don't visit here much, because during the ordeal, this is where I dumped everything--my rage, my fear, my sadness, my ugly, my hope, my everything. But I want all of you who supported and prayed for us to hear his updates. You helped me survive, and I am deeply thankful. Every once in awhile, I will check in to let you know how he's doing. Please continue to pray that cancer will never return to his body. Thank you.

  12. Amazing pictures - your boys are beautiful. I will say a prayer for you today. I am a childhood cancer survivor. It is a tough road, but you come out the other end a better, stonger, more compassionate person - I promise. One thing my parents did for me during my treatment (that I never realized at the time) - they never denied that what was happening to me was tough, but they always told me I was tougher. I never saw them cry - this was just a bump in the road that we were going to get past.
Hang in there - sometimes it takes a lot of rain before you get your rainbow.

  15. Visiting from Beth's blog. I'm sorry that you're going to have so much traffic today for such a sad thing, but hopefully words from us strangers will help to lift you up in this dark time ... because you know that we've all thought of your darling little boy, shed a few tears, and said many prayers in the hopes that this next year will go swiftly and like someone said, be just a bump in the road.

  30. I am also from beth's blog... I am thinking of you and your little men! I am unsure if you are aware of Anissa Mayhew. She recently had a stroke, and is still recovery mode, however, her daughter Peyton had/has cancer. She would be a great resource for you. She has been there, she has done that.

That being said.... Your son is tougher than anyone thinks. Be there for your children, they need you, and you need them. I hope you feel the love! It is being sent your way!
